WHERE EAST MEETS WEST

SOUTH PALM CANYON’S NEW RESTAURANT, The New York Company Restaurant recently debuted making its home in a favorite hangout of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Neil Castren and Wally D”Agostino, both native New Yorkers and restauranteurs, have transformed what was the much loved Banducci’s “Bit of Italy” into a warm and inviting restaurant where the East truly meets the West. Neil brings to this new dinner house many years experience creating a very successful restaurant in Los Angeles in addition to Wally’s experience in the Palm Springs restaurant scene.

Entering the restaurant, one enters an inviting New York style bar with a baby grand piano and wonderful large black and white photographs of New York City. The bar is a delightful spot to sip a martini and relax with friends before enjoying a wonderful dinner in one of the two dining areas with a relaxed California feel. Entertainment at the piano adds to the dining experience.

Neil and Wally’s objective has been achieved, melding the best of East Coast and West Coast cuisine in their restaurant. It required a chef with the ability to create a menu based on appealing cuisine reflective of both coasts. The Chef’s daily specials creatively address what returning visitors personally request .

The excellent Wine List complements the cuisine with carefully selected wines by the bottle and the glass. Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Cabernets and Merlots, etc. are primarily from California along with interesting international selections.
